Paris Saint-Germain have dropped interest in Jose Mourinho
Laurent Blanc is in negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a new contract at the club, all-but ending the interest in Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
Reports have emerged in recent weeks that PSG are considering making a move for Mourinho at the end of the current season, but those reports have now been dismissed with Blanc in formal talks with the Ligue 1 champions.
Mourinho has struggled this season with Chelsea, guiding them to just three Premier League wins out of 12 games, and he has been strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge sooner rather than later.
PSG, AS Monaco, Inter Milan and Real Madrid have all been mentioned, but it was the French champions that were considered favourites.
However, Blanc has now revealed that he is ready to sign a new deal in Paris and the club are willing to offer him a new contract.
New Contract for Blanc
“We are talking with the club to effectively extend (my contract). It’s currently being negotiated and discussed,” he said.
“It is at this point and there is no decision yet. When that is completed, we will tell you.
“It was not us who asked the club to start negotiations but the club who called us.
“We were delighted. There is nothing definitive yet, but already it is a good thing for us and for PSG.”
