In-form striker is being linked with moves to Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has admitted he’d understand if star-striker Jamie Vardy chose to leave the club in January, amid reports Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are interested.

The Foxes striker has netted 10 goals already for Ranieri this season, making him the Premier League‘s top goalscorer, and he’s now managed to score at least once in his last seven games.

The 28-year-old’s stock has risen drastically in recent months, with a call-up to the England national team coming earlier in the year, and now with his goalscoring form, he’s been linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium.

Spurs and Liverpool are two Premier League teams that have been mentioned, as have La Liga giants Real Madrid, and Ranieri has admitted he wouldn’t be surprised if Vardy fancied a move to a bigger club in the New Year.

Ranieri Supports Vardy

“It is important he enjoys it here, after that I can understand if he wants to go and find some great club,” said the Foxes boss. “But he costs a lot.

“If Real Madrid or some big names want to buy him, they have the money to buy him. But not many teams can buy him now.
Having said this however, Ranieri is confident of keeping the striker at Leicester.
“He is very happy here. We do not want to sell him. That is clear.”
