The defender is confident to perform well for the Spanish side
The French Defender who has just joined the Spanish side is keen to make an impact on the Spanish side and is hopeful to do that. Lenglet joined the Spanish giants after representing Sevilla for 2 years. He represented Sevilla in 73 games and has scored 4 times for the club.
He was a regular figure in the Jorge Sampaoli playing XI, but after just 2 years for the side he bid farewell to the side and joined Spanish Champions Barcelona.
In talks with the reporters, Barcelona defender spoke about how happy he is for playing for the Spanish side.
He said, “I am very happy to be here, I was ready to sign for Barcelona and every day I feel better.”
“I try to talk to the people of the club and my team-mates to adapt as soon as possible to a game that is different for me. I’m growing.”
Barcelona’s opening game is against Lenglet’s former side Sevilla and the player is confident of proofing something to himself.
He said,”There’s more chance to play because there are three or four players missing from my position,” Lenglet said. “But I have to show in pre-season that I’m worth playing, regardless of there being more or less competition.”
The player joined Barca after the Spanish team triggered his release clause and spent €35 million to sign the defender from Sevilla.
Lenglet will playe with the likes of Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti, Thomas Vermaelen alongside him.
