Leon Osman is confident that Everton have strengthened well enough to finish above Liverpool next season.
The Toffees made a huge statement of intent on Wednesday by signing Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku for a club-record £28million fee. Liverpool on the other hand have put the funds from Luis Suarez’s transfer to good use, improving in all areas of the field by buying Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Dejan Lovren, Lazar Markovic, Emre Can and Dicvock Origi.
And although Liverpool were pushing for Premier League and finished above Everton last season, Osman is sure that the tables will be turned again on Merseyside this upcoming campaign,
“Yes we can. It’s going to be difficult though,” Osman told talkSPORT.
“Liverpool have strengthened, but so have we.
“We both have extra commitments with Europe this year but we aim to finish above them every season.”
