Leroy Sane has left the Germany camp citing personal reasons. The Manchester City winger was selected in the squad for the UEFA Nations League.

Following a brilliant 2017-18 campaign with Manchester City, the German international was supposed to be a confirmed presence in the Germany World Cup squad but to everyone’s surprise, Joachim Low overlooked him.

Low’s strategy failed miserably as Germany failed to clear the group stage in the World Cup. However, the German gaffer decided to include the youngster this time but it seemed the youngster had some other plans.

German football association confirmed the development. “Following discussions with head coach Joachim Löw, Leroy Sane has left the team hotel in Munich for private reasons and will not be available for #GERPER .”

For the time being Sane won’t be available for Sunday’s friendly against Peru. His behaviour has drawn severe criticism as fellow teammate and Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos questioned his attitude.

“Sometimes you have the feeling with Leroy’s body language that it’s all the same if we win or lose.”

“He’s a player who has everything you need to be a world-class player but sometimes you have to tell him he has to perform better.

“He was fantastic for City last year but Pep [Guardiola] has the same problem at the moment – he’s trying to get the best out of him.”
