Marseille are reportedly set to offer Diego Costa a way out of Stamford bridge
The Ligue 1 club are said to be preparing a bid of £27.5million for the Brazilian
Marseille are set to offer Diego Costa a way out of Chelsea with a bid said to be worth £27.5million, according to their club president.
Costa has known for a while now he has no future at Stamford Bridge after Conte text him to let him know he was not in his long-term plans.
The 28-year-old has his heart set on a return to former club Atletico Madrid, but they are unable to move for the striker due to a transfer ban.
Marseille are hoping to capitalise on the situation by offering Costa an escape route, and are planning to test Chelsea’s resolve with a big-money bid.
The Ligue 1 club’s president Jacques-Henri Eyraud told SFR Sport: “What I like about the player is his character, his passion and his willingness to fight.
“He would fit in well with our team. I understand he was a complicated contractual situation at Chelsea.
“But if it a player ticks all the boxes, we could reach a bid of up to £27.5million.”
