Linesman David Bryan has hit in the back with a flare during the Aston Villa & Tottenham game. The flare that struck the linesman was thrown by a fan in the Tottenham supporters end. This happened just after Andros Townsend scored in the first half. The linesman carried on however the restart of the game was delayed due to smoke on the pitch.
The linesman being struck by a flare thrown from a Tottenham fan still didn’t ruin the club’s day when the game resulted in a 2-0 win over Aston Villa for Tottenham and they bagged 3 points. Tottenham got their 2 goals from Andros Townsend in the 31st minute and an in form Soldado in the 69th minute. The 2-0 win over Aston Villa was a boost for Tottenham after their 3-0 loss to West Ham on Sunday 6th October.
Tottenham Manager Andre Villas-Boas said “It’s not great to see. It should be avoided completely. It touched the linesman and situations like this don’t have a place n football. I sincerely hope it doesn’t happen again.”
