A ÂŁ16.6m fee has reportedly been agreed

Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Mateo Kovacic according to reports.

Gazzetta dello Sport is claiming that a ÂŁ16.6m fee has been agreed for the Croatian and that a deal is now very close to happening.

Replacement for Steven Gerrard

He has been heavily linked to Anfield over the past few weeks as a replacement for Steven Gerrard, who has made the move to the MLS.

Roberto Mancini has previously claimed that the Croatian is going nowhere, but it appears that the manager may have changed his mind.

Kovacic played 35 times for Inter last season, scoring 5 and grabbing two assists. The 21-year old has clearly caught the eye of Brendan Rodgers with his performances and a deal could soon be done to bring the midfielder to Anfield.
