Liverpool’s Summer plans begin

Premier League side Liverpool have reportedly agreed terms with Barcelona defender Martin Montoya ahead of a possible move from the Spanish giants in the summer transfer window.

The Reds are monitoring several different right-backs as Glen Johnson has not been offered a contract extension but Montoya is said to be one of Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers’ top targets.

Montoya’s struggles at Barca

The 24-year-old has failed to prove himself enough to be a regular in the Barcelona starting line-up and according to reports in Spain; he has already agreed personal terms with the Reds as he wants to test himself away from La Liga.

The two clubs have not agreed on a transfer fee for the Barcelona academy product, but sources suggest that Montoya has moved closer to a move from the Nou Camp to Anfield.
