Liverpool and Manchester United have been dealt a blow in their attempts to sign talented young midfielder Daley Sinkgraven.

Sinkgraven, who currently plays for Herenveen in the Netherlands, has revealed he wants to remain in the Eredivisie, singling out Ajax as his next potential move.

“I would first prefer to play at the top of the Netherlands,” Sinkgraven said.

“I think it is too soon to move to a foreign country. Ajax would be a nice step.”

However, the 19 year old also said that it is a “compliment” that clubs like Barcelona, Liverpool and United are interested in signing him.

The Herenveen manager, Dwight Lodeweges has told clubs to stay away to allow Sinkgraven to develop.

“Please let him stay with us for a few years. Even if he is sold, we will demand a top price for him. Daley has incredible talent.”
