Liverpool are highly hoping to finally sign Lazio striker Keita Balde Diao in January by making a £15million transfer offer.
Diao was a target for Liverpool over the summer, However, Brendan Rodgers saw a bid knocked back, and decided to sign Mario Balotelli instead.
However, he has remained a fan of the powerful frontman and now reports say Liverpool will make a £15million offer in the new year – and expect to get their man.
Arsenal are also keen on the 19-year-old but he is thought to favour a switch to Anfield over the Emirates Stadium.
Diao’s agent, Ulisse Savini, refused to rule out the player leaving in January during an interview last season, telling reporters ‘it’s too early to say what will happen.’
