The rising value of Thomas Lemas has made him hot property in the transfer market, and two of the biggest clubs pursuing him, Liverpool and Arsenal, might have to shell out close to £90million to acquire his services.
On the transfer deadline day, Monaco accepted a deal worth £90m from Arsenal, but the offer did not go through after Lemar turned down the move.
Liverpool continue to express their interest in signing Lemar, even though the plans will only intensify only in summer.
Arsenal are eyeing Lemar as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who is likely to leave the club soon.
Monaco seems to be giving the green light to a potential Lemar deal, with Coach Leonardo Jardim hinting that the door is open for a Lemar move, saying that “many things could happen”.
Jardim said: “We do not typically sell players in the winter transfer window. But the month is long and many things could happen.”
