Brendan Rodgers eyes Glen Johnson replacement
Liverpool have moved closer to finalising a deal for Barcelona right-back Martin Montoya after making a £7.3million bid for the Spaniard.
Fee for Montoya
The 24-year-old has agreed personal terms with The Reds ahead of a move to Anfield in the summer transfer window which leaves his transfer fee being the only thing left to negotiate.
According to Spanish newspapers, Liverpool have offered £7.3million for the player who has failed to impress bosses at Barcelona.
Glen Johnson Replacement
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers thinks Montoya will be a good replacement for Glen Johnson, who is set to leave in summer when his contract expires.
Montoya has won four trophies in his four years with the Spanish giants and will get more regular football with the Reds.
