Klopp looking to bolster midfield options

Liverpool have reportedly made a £9.5million bid for Polish star Piotr Zielinkski.

The midfielder was an unused sub on Sunday when Poland beat Northern Ireland 1-0 in their opening game of Euro 2016. He belongs to Italian side Udinese, but has been on-loan at Empoli for the last 2 years.

He’s wanted by Napoli but Jurgen Klopp’s side have got their bid in first, and is Zielinki’s preferred destination, and it is thought that Klopp himself has spoken to him to outline his plans.

“I negotiated for Zielinski with the Pozzo family and we finalised every detail,” Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis told Corriere dello Sport.

“Instead it now seems as if the player is doing everything possible to resist the move and not come here. He wants Liverpool.”

Klopp has already signed Schalke centre-back Joel Matip, Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Grujic and Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius for next season as his squad strengthening continues.
