Henderson is suffering from a toe injury
Jordan Henderson is a major doubt for Liverpool’s heavyweight clash with Arsenal due to a foot injury.
The Liverpool captain limped off in the Reds’ 1-0 win over Bournemouth, having missed several training sessions in the lead up to the game. He played with the help of painkillers.
Brendan Rodgers is now anxiously waiting the results of a scan, and will hope his captain will be available to start alongside new signing James Milner on Monday night.
The club are confident the 25 year old has not broken a metatarsal, but the injury could require rest, which could rule him out of the trip to North London.
Liverpool are one of four Premier League teams on maximum points, after two rounds of matches.
The Arsenal game commences a very tough run of away fixtures for Rodgers’ side, with Manchester United, Everton, Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City to come consecutively away from Anfield.
And for Liverpool to finish in the Champions League places in May, they will have to drastically improve on their record against the top clubs.
They mustered just five points from a possible 24 against last season’s top four.
