According to widespread reports, West Bromwich Albion striker, Saido Berahino is close to a move to Liverpool.
The deal could well be worth up to £23million and the 21-year-old has already told his manager that he wants to move away from the Midlands club.
Berahino, originally from Burundi, has already scored 8 times in 21 outings this season and may well be the answer to Brendan Rodgers problems up front.
Although Raheem Sterling has done a very good job in the target man role at Anfield in the last few matches, Rodgers will want him back in a more familiar position with a recognised striker or two in front of him.
With Mario Balotelli consistently misfiring, and Daniel Sturridge still out of the reckoning, Liverpool need to strenghten up front, and fast.
Berahino has represented England at every level since Under-16’s, and has even been named in the full squad this year, although not actually playing.
He is one for the future, but his rise to fame may just be hitching a ride up to Merseyside sometime soon.
