Liverpool are close to wrapping up a deal for FC Barcelona defender Martin Montoya.
The Reds have been long-term admirers of the full-back and are keen to bring him to Anfield at the end of the season.
According to reports, Liverpool officials are already working on a deal to bring the Spaniard to the Premier League and are willing to offer around £8.8million.
The 23-year-old has failed to cement a first-team spot at the Nou Camp due to Dani Alves, who could also be on the brink of leaving the club, and he is ready to quit the club in order to save his career.
Liverpool’s current right-back, Glen Johnson, is set to leave the club as his contract expires, and Brendan Rodgers sees Montoya as a perfect replacement.
