Liverpool are confident that they can sign Burnley striker, Danny Ings, over the Summer once his contract expires at Turf Moor.

The England hitman is set to leave the Premier League strugglers at the end of the season once his current deal expires, and it’s believed that Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring him to Anfield to add firepower to his squad.

Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini have all failed to impress this season and with Daniel Sturridge’s injury record, The Reds are in dire need of attacking reinforcements.

Liverpool were keen on making an offer for Ings in January but were told hands-off by Sean Dyche, but with this deal expiring in June, it’s likely that he will leave in the Summer.

Despite not having to pay a transfer fee, due to his age, Liverpool would have to pay a compensation fee to Burnley, which is believes to be around ÂŁ3million-ÂŁ5million.

Real Sociedad have reportedly had a contract offer turned down by the 22-year-old as he wants to remain in the Premier League.
