The Reds reportedly have the funds to make a bid for the Polish striker

Liverpool are eyeing a move for Robert Lewandowksi.

The forward has been linked with a move to Anfield ever since Jurgen Klopp took over as boss, with the pair having previously worked together at Borussia Dortmund.

With the Reds current striker problem – Ings is out injured and apart from Benteke, they only have Origi who could play as a striker unless they start to look at younger players or even bring someone like Balotelli back from loan – they could do with signing another frontman and Klopp is keen on a reunion with Lewnadowski.

Bayern reluctant to sell

It won’t be easy to sign him though: He has been sensational for Bayern this season and they will be extremely reluctant to let him leave.

Even if they were willing to let him go, it would take a large amount of money to tempt them to do business. Despite this, Liverpool are confident that they have the funds and strategy in place to launch a move for the 27-year old.

If the Reds did manage to land him, it would be a magnificent piece of business for them and a huge blow for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Lewandowski’s agent has been discussing his client’s future, and has hinted that Liverpool’s interest is concrete.

He told SportBild: “It would be wrong to say there is no interest [from the Premier League].

“[But] all of us should respect that Robert has a contract at FC Bayern.”
