Liverpool eye up a new goalkeeper

Liverpool are looking to get the nod from John W Henry to go and find themselves a new goalkeeper in the fast approaching January trasfer window.

The businessman has told Rodgers that he must try and generate funds from within his current squad, rather than spending a new injection of cash.

Rodgers spent ÂŁ113million in the summer on seven different players, funds for that coming from the huge sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.

The majority would say that the summer signings, including Mario Balotelli and Adam Lallana, have so far failed to live up to expectations.

This season the goalkeeper spot has been targeted as the sides weak link, with Simon Mignolet not on his best form, and Brad Jones not being deemed good enough to take the #1 spot on a regular basis.

Petr Cech and Asmir Begovic are being rumoured to be the two main targets, with Liverpool possibly looking to offload both Fabio Borini and Glen Johnson to raise enough funds.
