Manchester City have made the first move for Premier League target, Layvin Kurzawa, after offering £17million for the Frenchman.

The AS Monaco left-back has been strongly linked with Manchester United and Chelsea over the past week, but according to reports this morning, it’s City that are ready to lodge the first formal bid of around £17m.

It’s believed that officials from the Etihad flew out to France last week in order to hold formal talks with the 22-year-old’s representatives and also tried to offer him lucrative seats in the stadium for their Champions League game against Bayern Munich.

City tried to get him to come watch the match without telling Monaco, but Kurzawa rejected the opportunity to fly over to England.

Despite making the first move, City face major competition from their English rivals, especially United, who is apparantly Kurzawa’s drea-move.
