The Reds haven’t met Shakhtar’s valuation
According to reports, Liverpool have had a £28 million bid for Alex Teixeira rejected by Shakhtar Donetsk.
This is allegedly Jurgen Klopp’s second bid for the striker, after an original offer of £24.5 million was shunned by the Ukrainian side.
It is believed that Shakhtar value the Brazilian at around £39 million and will not accept anything below that price tag.
This is the major stumbling block for the Anfield club in their pursuit of Teixeira; even though the player has been vocal to the media about his desire to move to the Premier League this month.
‘they are working on a solution’
When speaking to Brazilian newspaper Globo Esporte, Teixeira said: “I would like to move in this transfer window and have told them [Shakhtar] that.
“They have received a very good offer and they are working on a solution, but if I don’t go now then I will leave in the summer.”
The 26-year old has scored 22 goals in just 15 games so far this season.
