Brendan Rodgers keen on Juventus star
Liverpool are showing interest in signing Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo after the Italian revealed his plans to leave the club at the end of the season.
The 35-year-old ha sone year left on his current deal in Italy, but he has already announced his intentions to leave the club over the Summer in order for one more challenge before the end of his career.
Interest in Pirlo
According to reports, teams in the MLSÂ are desperate to bring Pirlo over to America, but they could face serious competition from Premier League giants Chelsea and Liverpool.
It’s been reported in Italy that Liverpool are showing interest in Pirlo and could offer him a short-term deal in order to come to Anfield for a year.
Gerrard Replacement
The Reds are in the market for a new centre-midfielder as Steven Gerrard is set for his move to LA Galaxy, and despite Pirlo’s age, there can be no questioning about his ability and talent.
Pirlo would bring a wealth of experience to Anfield and would be able to fulfill Gerrard’s role of anchoring the midfielder and spreading the ball around the park.
It’s unclear how much Pirlo would cost, but due to his age and his contract status, Liverpool could get the Italian on the cheap.
