Liverpool are eyeing up a deal for Borussia Dortmund striker, Ciro Immobile, as Brendan Rodgers’ hunt for a striker continues.
The Reds have really missed Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge this season, with the former going to FC Barcelona and the latter being injured for the majority of the season, and the Merseyside team has suffered because of it.
The duo, who were nicknamed ‘The SAS’, helped Liverpool finish second in the league last season and score over 100 goals, but this season, the side have been the complete opposite and have struggled to get goals due to the lack of firepower.
Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini have been Rodgers’ options and all three are failing to score on a regular basis.
After failing to sign a striker in the January window, it’s almost guaranteed that Rodgers will bring one in in the Summer with several names linked.
However, Immobile is the latest to be linked despite only joining Dortmund last Summer.
The Bundesliga side are struggling this season and sit near the bottom of the table, and the man who has scored eight goals this campaign could already be on his way out.
Liverpool wanted to sign Immobile before he joined Dortmund in a deal worth £15.5million, and it’s likely that they will renew their interest in the Italian at the end of this season.
