Liverpool keen on Saido Berahino

Liverpool are ready to make a January move for West Bromwich Albion striker, Saido Berahino, despite The Baggies slapping a £25million price-tag on the Englishman’s head.

The Reds are lacking firepower with Daniel Sturridge out injured, and with new signing, Mario Balotelli, struggling to find form and goals, Brendan Rodgers is ready to buy yet another striker in the New Year.

Rodgers signed Balotelli and Rickie Lambert in the Summer, as well as Divock Origi, who he sent back out on loan, but he is now looking for another striker, and it appears Berahino is his number-one target.

The 21-year-old is the Premier League’s third top goalscorer, only behind Diego Costa of Chelsea and Sergio Aguero of Manchester City, making him England’s top goalscorer of the season so far, and his performances have not only caught Liverpool’s eye.

Tottenham Hotspur were keen on signing Berahino over the Summer with a £15m offer reported, but it’s believed after his start to the new season, Alan Irvine would want around £25m for his star-man, a price-tag that Rodgers is willing to meet.
