Liverpool legend blasts Luis Suarez

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has accused Luis Suarez of ‘dragging the club’s name through the mud’, after he once again bit an opponent.

The Uruguayan was caught on camera biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini’s shoulder, which means he’s now bitten an opponent three times in his professional career, once with Ajax, once with Liverpool and now with his national side.

After recovering from the Branislav Ivanovic incident, Suarez insisted that he had changed his way on the pitch and was ready to clean up his act and move on after serving his ban, but just over a year later, he has caused controversy once again, and this time, Liverpool are finding it hard to defend their star.

As reported earlier, The Reds are to hold emergency crisis talks to discuss what to do with the striker, but former-striker, Robbie Fowler, believes the Uruguayan has already damaged the club’s name enough.

‘Most Liverpool fans love him as a player but he’s continually dragged the club’s name through the mud,’ Fowler told talkSPORT’s Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show.

‘It’s not right, especially after how they helped him last time. They tried to rehabilitate him. I wouldn’t be surprised if Suarez left now.

‘He’s a different person on the pitch. I’m flummoxed, he’s dragged the good name of Liverpool through the mud again, and it’s not right.

‘You can’t defend him. I love him as a player but you cannot condone what he’s done.’
