Reds desperate for no.10 to stay

Liverpool are set to offer Phillippe Coutinho a new contract at Anfield in order to fight interest from Barcelona in the player.

Coutinho has been in fine form at the beginning of this season and has been key in getting the Reds some fantastic results.

And it’s thought he won’t be the only first team player to be offered a new contract thanks to his form, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren are also thought to be getting new deals at Anfield.

However, it’s Coutinho that fans will be most keen to see sign, as his creativity in midfield and out on the wing really makes Liverpool tick, and he’s forming very strong relationships on the pitch with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, who complete Liverpool’s current go-to front 3.

Liverpool are looking to tie the 24-year-old down to a new long-term contract, just 18 months after he signed his last one with the club.

Coutinho has four goals and three assists in eight appearances in all competitions this season.
