Jerome Sinclair drops exit message

Liverpool forward Jerome Sinclair has rejected a new contract offer at Anfield and has handed in a transfer request.

The Reds offered the striker a standard deal at the end of last season, but contract talks between the youngster’s representatives and the club have broken down and a permanent departure from Merseyside is on the horizon.

The 18-year-old has not been named in Liverpool’s first-team squad to go on their pre-season tour of Australia and the Far East, but instead, Reds gaffer Brendan Rodgers has sent him with the Under-21 squad to the Republic of Ireland.

Sinclair Drops Exit Hint

The forward, who had a spell on loan at Wigan Athletic last season, alerted his followers on Twitter of his Anfield exit. “Sometimes things just aren’t meant to be! Exciting times though! New chapter pending, Can’t wait to see where this year takes me.” he tweeted.

The England U16 and U17 star made two competitive appearances for the Reds, including one as a second-half substitute against Chelsea and was dubbed to follow Raheem Sterling’s footsteps in becoming a first-team regular.

Sinclair is the youngest ever to play for Liverpool, making his senior debut at the age of 16 years and 6 days. However, his three-and-a-half year spell at Anfield is coming to an end.
