Liverpool are pushing to sign Chelsea striker, Fernando Torres, as AC Milan look certain to terminate his loan-deal.

The Spaniard signed a two-year loan-deal at the San Siro in the Summer, but with paying his ÂŁ3m-a-year wages, officials in Italy don’t think they are getting their moneys worth from the striker, and they are keen to send him back to England in January, just months into the deal.

A two-year loan-deal was agreed as it would see Torres through to the end of his contract at Stamford Bridge, but after a few months in Italy, he has failed to impress his new side and they are now ready to terminate the deal.

Jose Mourinho has already said Torres cannot return to Chelsea, so that could leave the 30-year-old clubless in the New Year.

However, according to reports, Liverpool are keen on bringing him back to Anfield, a place where he shined and became a fan favourite.

Torres’ performances in Merseyside urged Chelsea to spend ÂŁ50million on him, and they believe he could be the guy to kick-start their season.

Atletico Madrid are also keen on re-signing their former-star, but will face serious competition from Brendan Rodgers.
