Liverpool are set to sign Porto striker Jackson Martinez in January.
The Reds are very confident that they can confirm the proposed deal in order to take the striker to Anfield for £30 million, once the transfer window re-opens in January.
Brendan Rodgers has been put into action following Liverpool’s poor start to the Premier League season, and is set to make a swift move for the Colombian.
Rodgers’ forward signings have struggled to adapt into the club so far, with Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Lazar Markovic all failing to make the grade to date, following an injury to Daniel Sturridge, and the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.
And it appears that Martinez himself would be open to a move to Liverpool, after revealing that a move away from Porto may be on the cards in the near future.
“At the end of this season I hope to get some interesting proposals.”
