Reds ready to make stunning move for Manchester United striker

Liverpool are reportedly ready to make a shock transfer bid for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.

No player has completed a switch between the two clubs for over 50-years, but according to reports today, Liverpool could be ready to make a formal bid for the United outcast.

The Mexican spent last season out on loan in Spain with Real Madrid and has been told by Louis Van Gaal that he has no future at Old Trafford despite the club only having two strikers currently.

Strikers Leaving United

Radamel Falcao was shipped back to AS Monaco after his loan deal expired, whilst Robin Van Persie is set to join Turkish side Fenerbache after falling out with members at United.

With the duo leaving, that leaves United with just Wayne Rooney and youngster James Wilson, and despite the lack of options up front, Van Gaal is still ready to sell Hernandez.

According to reports, La Liga side Sevilla want to sign Hernandez and will offer around ÂŁ8million, but fresh reports this morning have linked Brendan Rodgers with making a formal move.

The 27-year-old is ready to leave Old Trafford in order to play regular first-team football and he’s admitted that he’s not fussed where he ends up as long as it’s somewhere he can play regularly.

Hernandez Wants Games

“I want to join a team where I can play and get minutes,” he said.

“If I can do that at Manchester United or another club, I’ll be happy. First-team football is my priority over anything else.”

Liverpool’s Striker Hunt

Liverpool are in desperate need of a new striker despite signing Danny Ings from Burnley, and it was reported that Christian Benteke could be that man, but Hernandez is seen as the cheaper option.

Aston Villa have told Liverpool that they won’t sell Benteke for anything under his release clause, which is ÂŁ32.5million.
