Liverpool still in hunt for Falcao

Brendan Rogers has refused to rule out a move for Radamel Falcao in an attempt to replace the departed Luis Suarez who scored over 30 premier league goals for the reds last season.

Falcao has insisted his desire to move to Real Madrid as his first choice but with so much attacking talent already at the Burnabeu it is not sure whether Madrid will spend the money required for his signature or whether indeed they need him.

Rogers insists he will fight right until the last second on deadline day to land Falcao or a similar world class forward as he aims to land Liverpool their first premier league trophy.

Edison Cavani is the alternative option for Brendan Rogers if Falcao turns down the reds for the second time having already seen a bid snuffed. Cavani is thought to be unsettled at PSG and is particularly unhappy at his role wide out on the left as Ibrahimovic occupied the central striking position. A move for Cavani would cost upwards of ÂŁ40 million with PSG splashing out ÂŁ55 for his signature before the start of last season.

Falcao is said to want away from Monaco, the project that was set about there has not materialised and with Liverpool offering Champions League football and genuine Premier League contenders Falcao may just have a change of heart toward the end of the transfer window.
