Liverpool and Galatasaray are two clubs linked with a move for Anzhi Makhachkala striker Lacina Traore after the Russian side are desperate to sell some of their highest earners are getting into financial trouble.

Anzhi have already sold both Willian and Samuel Eto’o this summer, both to Chelsea, clearing up a huge chunk of their wage-bill, but they are also apparently keen on putting together an all-Russian side with the hope that they can sell some of their overseas players, Traore being one of them.

The 6ft 8″ striker is a real handful for defenders and despite being one of the tallest footballers, he is also very quick on his feet and can burst past players as well.

Traore has recently been linked with a move to Italy in order to join Juventus, but his agent has revealed that nothing has been completed as of yet.

Selyuk told Izvestia: “Recent developments have not changed Traore’s relationship with Anzhi.

“Moreover, he believes that the change of direction towards development will benefit the club.

“He loves to work with [new coach] Gadzhi Gadzhiyev, who has assured him that he counts on Lacina as the main striker.

“But I can’t deny that in the case of a decent proposal that suits both us and Anzhi, Lacina could still change club.

“The interest in Traore in Russia and Europe is quite large.

“Therefore, if we get a good offer in the winter I think the leadership of Anzhi will let him go.

“But there are not many teams that could afford to pay the price for the player.”
