Foxes academy graduate is a target for Premier League duo
Liverpool are set to battle it out with Arsenal for the signing of 19-year-old Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell this summer.
It is understood that Jurgen Klopp is looking to bolster his defensive options, with left-back Alberto Moreno’s performances having been criticised at times this season.
The Leicester youngster has impressed the Premier League’s top clubs, since making his first-team breakthrough earlier in the campaign, having been named the club’s academy player of the year last season.
Chilwell was loaned out earlier in the season to Championship side Huddersfield Town, but could now be set to depart the Foxes for good, with Arsene Wenger also keen to take the youngster to the Emirates.
However, the newly-crowned Premier League champions are keen to keep ahold of their academy graduate, as they look to retain their top-four spot next campaign, as they also embark on their Champions League venture – therefore they will need a squad in numbers, and Chilwell will be a part of that.
Liverpool are understood the value the player at around £5 million, who has made three first-team appearances for the club this campaign, but the Reds have lined up other targets, if Leicester refuse to sell Chilwell.
Meanwhile, the 19-year-old could, alternatively, be heading for Arsenal, as cover for Nacho Monreal, putting Kieran Gibbs’ future at the club in doubt.
