According to reports in Spain, Liverpool are ready to make a £5million offer for FC Barcelona defender Dani Alves.
The Brazilian right-back is attracting interest from Brendan Rodgers, who is desperate to strengthen his sides defence after already adding to their attacking options, and with Alberto Moreno set to complete a switch to Anfield, Alves could follow.
The 31-year-old is expected to leave the Nou Camp this Summer as new manager Luis Enrique is keen to move him on this year, rather than lose him for free next year, which is when his contract expires at the club.
Liverpool may face competition from French side Paris Saint-Germain, but Barcelona are keen to sell to any potential suitors, so that they don’t lose him for nothing next Summer.
Despite being interested in Alves, Liverpool are reportedly close to signing Atletico Madrid’s right-back Javier Manquillo, as Rodgers is still not convinced by Glen Johnson.
