Liverpool are set to bid for Southampton captain Adam Lallana.
Lallana, aged 26 enjoyed a superb capaign for Southampton, as the Saints finished eighth, on 56 points, with the England international scoring 10 League goals.
The winger is set to be named in England’s World Cup squad, heading to Brazil for the World Cup finals this summer.
And the Southampton captain dropped a hint that he would be open to a move elsewhere.
“I’m ambitious. I want to one day play in the Champions League,” said Lallana.
His fine form for his club has caught the eye of Rodgers, who is looking to strengthen his Liverpool side, who finished second in the Premier League, having been pipped by Manchester City on the final day.
Lallana, who is one of four England international’s out the South Coast club, made his debut for England in a friendly against Chile in the November of last year.
