Liverpool will make a last ditch attempt to sign former Chelsea fullback Ashley Cole in the coming days.
Cole, aged 33, was released by the blues in the summer, after an eight year spell at the club, and has attracted interest from several clubs.
Italian Serie A side AS Roma are poised to sign the former England international, with the Itaian’s hoping a deal can be done early next week.
But Liverpool are set to battle it out with Roma, and try to convince Cole to stay on English soil.
