Liverpool are set to offer FC Barcelona star Dani Alves a contract worth around £120k-a-week.
The Brazilian full-back is out of contract at the end of the season and has reportedly told Barca that he won’t be signing a new deal after rejecting their latest offer.
Liverpool and Manchester United are both interested in signing the 31-year-old, but according to reports, Brendan Rodgers is willing to spend £120k-a-week on trying to lure the right-back to Anfield rather than Old Trafford.
This comes despite the news that they won’t be meeting Raheem Sterling’s and Jordan Henderson’s wage demands.
The English duo want around £100k-a-week, but officials at Liverpool have told them no. However, they are prepared to give Alves the wage he wants which is thought to be £20k-a-week more.
