Liverpool told to pay £12 million for keeper Mattia Perin

Liverpool have been told that they have to pay £12 million to sign Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin.

The Italian keeper has become a prime target for Liverpool, who are keen to solve their current goalkeeping crisis.

Perin’s agent has recently revealed that a potential move could be on the cards in the coming weeks, should Liverpool match the £12 million valuation of the highly-rated keeper.

“Any important club on a European level that has important sums to invest cannot help but think of Mattia,” agent Moreno Roggi told Tuttomercatoweb.

“They would have a very reliable goalkeeper for the next 20 years and the chance to spread the cost out over time.

However, his agent also suggests that the 22-year-old shot stopper will remain at Genoa for the season.

Liverpool? Now these voices are emerging consistently. Save for surprises, Perin will remain at Genoa until the end of the season, because I doubt the club and Gasperini want to lose a key figure in the team.

“Of course, if a club were to come forward with the right offer, then everything could be up for debate. I repeat, in my opinion he will remain at Genoa until the end of the season.”

Mexican keeper Guillermo Ochoa remains the favourite to replace the under-fire Simon Mignolet at Anfield, with Stoke’s Asmir Begovic also a proposed target.
