Liverpool urged to sign Petr Cech

Chelsea goalkeeper, Petr Cech, could be on his way to Liverpool come the end of the season, according to the veteran’s agent.

The Czech international, who has been dropped this season for Thibaut Courtois, has been strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, and although his agent has ruled out a move in January, he has confirmed that he will be moving on next Summer.

Despite being told in pre-season about his role this season, Cech decided to stay at the club and fight for his place, but since then, he has failed to break back into Jose Mourinho’s first-team and has grown frustrated with sitting on the bench.

In a recent interview, Cech’s agent admitted that a move halfway through the season is unlikely, but a move in the Summer, and in particular a move to Liverpool, could be on the cards.

‘It’s unlikely Petr will leave Chelsea in the January,’ said Viktor Kolar.

‘The club and coach want to keep him to help win the title, but Liverpool need to strengthen their position in-goal and they know Petr will be available in the summer.’

The Reds have been strongly linked with a new goalkeeper after Brendan Rodgers has lost faith in Simon Mignolet.
