Liverpool Football Club have won the double for August as Daniel Sturridge has picked up the player of the month award, whilst Brendan Rodgers has received the manager of the month award.
The English striker has been superb for The Reds so far this season, scoring all three of the side’s Premier League goals against Stoke City, Aston Villa and Manchester United respectively.
With the three Sturridge goals, it has guided Liverpool to the top of the table with a 100% record which meant along with Sturridge, Rodgers was in line for an individual award as well, which he won.
Rodgers also helped guide Liverpool through the next round of the Capital One Cup after avoiding a shock upset at the hands of Notts County, when the lower league side fought from 2-0 down back to 2-2.
However, the game ended 4-2 to the hosts after extra time.
The side are now preparing for their fourth Premier League game against Swansea City on Monday night.
