Hugo Lloris has signed a new long term deal at Tottenham Hotspur.

Lloris, aged 27 has put pen to paper on a five year contract extension, having signed from French Ligue 1 side Lyon in the summer of 2012, for an ÂŁ8 million fee.

The French international, who captained his country at the World Cup finals in Brazil this summer, has been an ever present at the club, making 78 appearances in the process.

Lloris will be working under recently appointed manager Mauricio Pochettino, and Lloris has praised the former Southampton manager ambitions.

“The arrival of Mauricio Pochettino is important,” Lloris told the club’s website. “I have a good feeling with him. He is also ambitious.

“Everything is clear in my head and if I’ve signed a new contract it’s because I trust the club and I’m sure we will progress in a positive way.”
