Madrid wants to sign a striker this summer

Since joining Bayern Munich form Borussia Dortmund in 2014, Robert Lewandowski has been outstanding for the team and established himself as one of the most lethal strikers in the world. He has performed brilliantly this season scoring 39 goals in all competitions for the Bundesliga giants.

The 29 year old has been linked with a move to Real Madrid after four prolific seasons at Bayern. The La Liga giants are in the market to sign a world class striker as Karim Benzena has been linked with a exit this summer.

There were reports too that the Poland International is also interested in a move to Spain after his training standards were recently questioned. But Jupp Heynckes has dismissed reports questioning the forward’s commitment to the club.

Former Bayern Munich and German great, Lothar Matthaus believes Real Madrid have no interest in Lewandowski and won’t be moving for him this summer. But wants the striker to deliver in big games.

“According to the information I have, Real Madrid is not interested in Lewandowski,” he told Sky .

Despite his prolific campaign, Lewandowski has scored just five goals in 10 Champions League games.

“I hear he is rather apathetic to training, and maybe to make the difference in big games,” he said.

“It’s that small percentage of investment that he’s missing. He has to focus on what’s important and not about his persistent changes of opinion.”

Bayern Munich will face Real Madrid in the second leg of Champions League semi final on tuesday, where they are trailing 2-1.
