New Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal believes only FOUR players currently at the squad are good enough to play for him.

It’s believed that the Dutchman will undergo a massive squad transformation during this Summer’s transfer market, and that could see many faces leave the club due to not impressing the new boss.

Van Gaal was officially announced as manager on Monday, after taking over from David Moyes, who only lasted 10-months in the job, and he is already keen to make drastic changes to the squad that finished seventh last year in the Premier League.

According to reports, Southampton’s Luke Shaw is close to completing his move to Old Trafford, and also Bayern Munich’s Toni Kroos could be making the Summer switch as well, but at the club right now, are only four players that Van Gaal rates.

Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie, Juan Mata and David De Gea are believed to be the only players the new manager thinks is good enough to play for his Manchester United side.

This leaves the rest of the squad with a massive pre-season ahead of them trying to impress the new boss, or they could face a quick Old Trafford exit in the near future.

It’s expected that a whole new defence will be invested in, and a few more midfielders will also be added to the ranks as United prepare for one busy Summer transfer window.
