Dutchman will leave Old Trafford if United fail to beat Chelsea tonight

Louis van Gaal will resign as Manchester United manager if they fail to beat Chelsea at Old Trafford this evening.

The Dutchman is under real pressure at United following four losses on the bounce, and according to reports, he is ready to walk away this evening if his side fail to end their losing streak.

Whether a draw will keep Van Gaal in his job is yet unknown, but it’s stated that if they do lose once again, he will walk away from the job.

Van Gaal said after the Stoke City defeat that sometimes it isn’t down to the club to make the decision, sometimes he knows when to quit, sparking speculation that he’s ready to resign.

Lose and Walk?

It’s now suggested that tonight is make-or-break for the manager and should they lose once again, he will walk away.

If Van Gaal does quit, it’s expected that Jose Mourinho could take over following his departure from Chelsea.

However another option could be to promote Ryan Giggs to first-team manager, something the board at Old Trafford are keen to do.
