Luis Suarez breaks his silence on his future.
The Uruguayan striker has had a magnificent season with Atletico Madrid after leaving Barcelona in the summer of 2020.
He scored 21 goals this season including his winner in their final day victory over Real Valladolid which helped his side clinch the La Liga title.
According to some reports, Suarez would leave Atletico for free to join his former club Liverpool in the summer.
“Yes, I’m sure (I’ll stay),” Suarez told Spanish TV network Movistar Plus.
“Atletico welcomed me from the minute I arrived. I asked the club if there was room for me on the museum wall to make history at Atletico.”
Atletico president Enrique Cerezo is keen to keep the 34-year old striker at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
“Luis Suarez is magnificent, wonderful, an excellent person,” Cerezo told Movistar.
“He has shown it on the pitch and after the game with those tears and that emotion that he has shown for all Spaniards and the world.
“He is a great player, a great person and a magnificent goalscorer. If you ask me about his renewal, I tell you that (his contract is) renewed and it only depends on him if he wants to continue or not, and I think he will have no doubts.”
