Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes striker Luis Suarez will only get better now that he has served his 10-match ban for biting.

The Uruguayan made his return to the first-team midweek in the Capital One Cup and despite the side losing 1-0 to Manchester United, the 26-year-old looked pretty impressive despite not playing for the club in over three months.

Too add to the good news on the pitch for Suarez, he also became a dad for the second-time straight after the United loss and Rodgers has revealed that the striker is feeling better than ever.

‘Luis became a father for the second time so he is on top of the world,’ said the Reds boss. ‘He is only going to get better with his football fitness.

‘I thought he was terrific the other night considering he had been out for a long time and you could see the threat he posed. It is a great credit to himself that he continued to devote, once he got his mind set, time working hard on his fitness.

‘To go into a game of that level (against United), knowing the magnitude of that game, was exceptional really. His only concentration now is as a player.’
