Southampton starlet Luke Shaw has dropped a massive hint about where he could be playing his football next season, after he stated in an interview that he believes The Saints can push for top-five next season.
The English left-back has been closely watched by some of European elite clubs, including Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United, City and Liverpool, but in a recent interview, he has admitted that he is only focused on Southampton right now and is hoping they can push on next season.
The 18-year-old, who could be worth around £30million in the Summer, is expected to make Roy Hodgson’s World Cup team for Brazil after a superb season at St Mary’s, but his pre-season could also be dominated by transfer talks as several clubs look set to make formal bids once the transfer window opens.
However, talking about his future, Shaw had this to say, and it appears that he is only thinking about staying at Southampton.
Shaw said: “There is not a club I am not linked with, but I don’t focus on that.
“My main focus is my football on the pitch and I just want to keep doing that.
“It doesn’t really bother me the attention I get. I just stay focused on my game on the pitch. Whatever is said is said.
“Stuff like that is going to happen but my main priority is the games. We’ve still got six left, so all the focus is on that.
“I think in the next year or so we can be challenging the top five teams.”
