Manchester United are looking at making a suprise bid for Sunderland winger Adam Johnson in the summer.
The 26 year old, who left local rivals Manchester City for Sunderland in 2012, has played just two seasons for the Black Cats, but could be one of many stars to leave the Stadium of Light in the summer transfer window if Sunderland are to be relegated.
Sunderland currently sit 19th in the Premier League, facing a battle to survive, although Adam Johnson’s fine form. Liverpool are also believed to be interested in signing him.
United are short of quality on the wings, and are set to sell wingers Nani and Ashley Young in the summer too, with David Moyes looking at a variety of replacements.
