The striker looks set to make the move to Old Trafford by the end of the week

Man United’s deal to bring Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Old Trafford is very nearly done, according to reports.

The Sweden star has retired from international football after his country were eliminated from the Euros in the group stages. This retirement has been a massive boost to the Red Devils in terms of sorting a deal out quickly, as it means he will not be competing at the Olympics and can instead tie up a move.

It’s been widely anticipated that the forward would be on his way to England for weeks, with Old Trafford the destination. Ibrahimovic himself has remained tight-lipped when questioned over his future but it’s now clear that Man United could be his next club.

Long and successful career

The 34-year old has had a long and successful career in many different countries, from Italy to Spain to France. His last club was PSG but at the end of the Ligue 1 season, he decided he’d had enough of Paris and left on a free transfer.

Now, it looks like he is ready to test himself in the Premier League, with United set to complete a deal for the striker by the end of the week.

A deal for the forward is likely to only be on a one-year deal but, if he impresses, he could get offered another year after that if he wants it.
